Srinagar, July 27, 2025 : In a spirited celebration of the Fit India Movement under the Khelo India Scheme, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organized inspiring cycle rallies across Srinagar on Sunday.
The BSF Kashmir Frontier, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, held a mega cycle rally to mark Kargil Vijay Diwas and promote fitness awareness. The event began at Nishat Garden, flagged off by DIG BSF Srinagar, Raghubir Singh, and concluded at the Botanical Garden, tracing a scenic route along Dal Lake.
The rally saw participation from over 200 cyclists, including BSF personnel, local youth, civilians, and dignitaries. The event commenced with the unfurling of the national flag, followed by the national anthem and a moment of silence in tribute to fallen heroes of the Indian Armed Forces.
Cyclists proudly carried the tricolor as they rode, drawing enthusiastic applause and warm greetings from local residents along the way. The rally aimed to foster national pride, unity, and a spirit of fitness among the people.
Speaking at the event, DIG Raghubir Singh said,
“Kargil Vijay Diwas reminds us of the unparalleled courage and sacrifice of our brave soldiers. This rally is a tribute to their legacy and an effort to inspire the youth to lead healthy, patriotic lives.”
In a parallel initiative, the Srinagar Sector CRPF conducted a cycle rally from Lal Chowk Clock Tower to SKICC, flagged off by DIG CRPF Srinagar South, PK Singh. CRPF officers and personnel participated with zeal and patriotic fervor, reflecting their commitment to both national service and public health.
These events served as a powerful blend of remembrance, respect, and resilience, uniting communities in honoring India’s heroes while promoting the importance of physical fitness.
