Jmmu, July 19, 2025: The 13-day-long Budha Amarnath Yatra in Poonch is set to commence on July 28. Senior officials, including Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar and IGP Bhim Sen Tuti, have reviewed security and logistics to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Tejinder Singh reviewed the situation in Poonch, emphasizing foolproof security and regulated convoy movement. The first batch of pilgrims will depart from Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu on July 28 towards Mandi tehsil under tight security.
To assist yatris, help desks and registration counters will be set up at Bhagwati Nagar and Jammu Railway Station. Deputy commissioners of Rajouri and Poonch have been directed to arrange essential facilities such as drinking water, electricity, langars, parking, waterproof tents, and mobile toilets along the route.
IGP Tuti underscored strict adherence to convoy schedules and urged the public to travel only with officially designated groups.
