JAMMU, November 6, 2025 : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah on Thursday addressed a public rally in Nagrota Assembly constituency, urging voters to come out in large numbers on November 11 and ensure the party’s victory in the upcoming byelection.
Speaking at the campaign rally held in Nagrota, Jammu district, Abdullah appealed to the electorate to strengthen the NC’s position in the Legislative Assembly by supporting party candidate Shameem Begum, who is contesting the bypoll.
The byelection was necessitated following the death of BJP MLA Devender Singh Rana in October 2024, creating a vacancy in the Nagrota seat.
During the rally, Abdullah emphasized the need for inclusive politics, grassroots development, and safeguarding the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir under a stable and representative government.
However, the Chief Minister had to cut short his speech due to a technical glitch in the audio system, though he continued interacting briefly with party workers before concluding the campaign event.
