Srinagar, November 2, 2025 : The second edition of the Kashmir Marathon kicked off in Srinagar on Sunday with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah flagging off the event and joining the half marathon, marking his second consecutive participation.
Over 1,500 athletes, including 100 foreign runners and participants from across India, took part in the international marathon — a symbol of resilience, unity, and normalcy returning to the Valley.
Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty graced the occasion, commending the event as a reflection of Kashmir’s growing stability and renewed enthusiasm for tourism. “Things are getting back to normal after the Pahalgam terror attack. I’m hopeful for a vibrant winter tourism season,” Shetty said, adding that Bollywood’s return to Kashmir was already underway with multiple film shoots in progress.
