SRINAGAR, July 18, 2025: Continuing his commitment to inclusive governance, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah held a public interaction today at the Srinagar Raabita Office, as part of his weekly outreach initiative. The event witnessed participation from numerous deputations, civil society members, and individuals who shared concerns, suggestions, and demands.

Following his public interaction in Jammu on Thursday, the CM engaged with stakeholders across various sectors, listening to issues ranging from public welfare to infrastructure, commerce, and sports.

Among the key interactions:

  • Prof. Iqbal S. Hasnain, Padma Shri awardee and Member of the Board of Trustees at the National University of Science and Technology, Muscat, presented his latest book “Fault Lines in the Faith” to the Chief Minister. Prof. Hasnain is also a noted member of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, and former Pro-Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard.

  • Javid Ahmad Tenga, President of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), met the CM to discuss challenges confronting the trade and business sector in Kashmir and offered key insights into improving the economic climate.

  • A delegation of international martial arts players sought support for sports infrastructure and greater opportunities for athletes representing J&K on global platforms.

  • Representatives of the Kashmir Labour Union’s Federation raised serious concerns regarding the J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB). They urged for the immediate appointment of a new Chairman and timely disbursement of welfare funds to lakhs of construction workers.

  • Delegations from Beerwah, Inderwal, Baramulla, and other districts apprised the CM of constituency-specific challenges including infrastructure, development, and civic issues.

  • Members from minority communities also called on the Chief Minister, highlighting pressing issues and seeking greater outreach and inclusivity in governance.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah gave a patient hearing to all representations and assured that genuine concerns will be taken up with urgency. He reiterated his government’s dedication to transparent, inclusive, and citizen-centric governance, ensuring that voices from all walks of life are heard and acted upon.
