GANDHINAGAR (GUJARAT), July 31, 2025 : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today inaugurated the Travel & Tourism Fair (TTF) at the Mahatma Mandir Convention & Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar, extending a heartfelt invitation to travellers across the country to experience the unmatched beauty, rich heritage, and warm hospitality of Jammu & Kashmir.
Highlighting the year-round tourism potential of J&K, the Chief Minister emphasized the region’s diverse offerings—from adventure and pilgrimage tourism to film and golf tourism. He also acknowledged the growing tourism exchange between Gujarat and J&K, reiterating the government’s commitment to positioning J&K as a vibrant, all-season travel destination.
Omar Abdullah was accompanied by key dignitaries including Advisor to the CM Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Altaf Ahmad Wani (Pahalgam), and MLA Farooq Ahmad Shah (Gulmarg). Gujarat Tourism Minister Mulubhai Bera graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.
Senior officers from both J&K and Gujarat governments were present, including Dheeraj Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary to the CM; Dr. Ashish Chandra Verma, Additional Chief Secretary (Tourism), J&K; Rajender Kumar, Secretary Tourism, Gujarat; and Prabhav Joshi, Commissioner of Tourism & MD, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited.
During the event, the Chief Minister engaged with industry exhibitors, interacted with delegates, and visited the exhibition halls showcasing tourism products and services. He also called on Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar to discuss inter-state cooperation, tourism promotion, and sharing of best practices for inclusive development.
TTF Ahmedabad, Gujarat’s largest travel trade show, features over 900 exhibitors and participation from more than 70 stakeholders across Jammu & Kashmir. This year’s event also includes international representation from Sri Lanka and is expected to draw over 12,500 trade professionals during its three-day run from July 31 to August 2.
The J&K Pavilion has become a major attraction at TTF Ahmedabad, offering a unique blend of traditional culture and modern travel experiences. From off-beat trails to spiritual circuits, the display reflects the region’s growing potential in niche tourism segments.
As Gujarat rises as a hub for business events and exhibitions, TTF Ahmedabad remains a key platform for B2B networking, partnership building, and boosting domestic and outbound travel. The event enables J&K Tourism to strengthen its footprint and forge stronger ties with travel professionals across India and beyond.
