Srinagar, Aug 11, 2025 : Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday chaired a high-level review of the Srinagar Master Plan-2035, Jammu Master Plan-2032, and the Unified Building Bye-Laws (UBBL)-2021, calling for realistic, implementable urban strategies that reflect ground realities rather than remain “mere vision documents.”
Commissioner Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department, Mandeep Kaur, presented detailed projections on urban growth, infrastructure needs, and policy interventions for the two cities. The review also examined UBBL provisions on permissible land use for residential, industrial, public, and semi-public purposes, along with technical guidelines to streamline development.
The meeting was attended by Advisor to CM Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, divisional and deputy commissioners of Srinagar and Jammu, municipal commissioners, and vice chairpersons of the respective development authorities.
