Srinagar, Jul 6 – National Conference president and former J&K CM Farooq Abdullah on Sunday urged Muslims to unite against evil, saying it’s the only path to global peace. Speaking during a Muharram procession in Old Srinagar, Abdullah emphasized Islam’s message of peace and brotherhood, invoking Imam Hussain’s stand at Karbala as a symbol of resistance against tyranny.
Wearing a keffiyeh—a symbol of Palestinian resistance—he also expressed solidarity with the Islamic world, including Palestine and Iran. “Karbala gave Islam the hope that we will survive against all odds,” he said.
