Kolkata, December 6, 2025 : Skipper Suyash Prabhudessai led from the front with an unbeaten 51 off 28 balls as Goa registered a convincing seven-wicket victory over Jammu and Kashmir in their Group B match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy at the iconic Eden Gardens here on Saturday.

Chasing a target of 162, Goa completed the chase comfortably, scoring 167 for 3 in 19 overs, with Kashyap Bakhale also playing a crucial role with a solid 59 off 44 balls, which included eight fours and a six.

Earlier, Goa put in a disciplined bowling performance while using six bowlers. Shubham Tari was the standout performer with figures of 3/30, while Deepak Gaonkar and Vikash Singh picked up a wicket each to restrict J&K to 161 for 6.

For Jammu and Kashmir, Yawer Hasan (48) and captain Shubham Khajuria (45) anchored the innings, while Abdul Samad provided a late flourish with a quick 22 off 9 balls, including two fours and two sixes. However, their bowlers failed to defend the target despite Auqib Nabi and Sunil Kumar returning identical figures of 1/31.

Meanwhile, at the Jadavpur University Ground, Hyderabad defeated Bihar by seven wickets in a low-scoring encounter, winning the match with more than eight overs to spare.

Bihar struggled with the bat and managed only 132 for 8 in 20 overs. Piyush Singh (34) and Bipin Saurabh (31 not out) were the top scorers, while teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was dismissed for 11. For Hyderabad, Tanay Thyagarajan (3/21) and Chama Milind (2/18) were impressive with the ball.
