Jammu, February 7, 2026 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday chaired a high-level review meeting in Jammu to assess the progress of key development projects and infrastructure works across Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

The meeting, held at Lok Bhawan, was attended by J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, DGP Nalin Prabhat, and other senior officials. The discussions focused on implementation of flagship schemes, acceleration of ongoing projects, and strengthening governance delivery in the Union Territory.

Shah is on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. On Friday, he visited BSF forward posts at Gurnam and Bobiyian along the International Border in Kathua, underlining the Centre’s emphasis on border security. Following the visit, he chaired a security review meeting attended by Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi, with a clear focus on eliminating terrorism from the region.

The Home Minister also met families of police personnel martyred in anti-terror operations and handed over job appointment letters to them. A BJP delegation comprising party MLAs and MPs from J&K also called on him.

Sharing details on social media, Shah said the BJP will continue to ensure last-mile delivery of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development initiatives and work towards the vision of a secure and developed Jammu and Kashmir.

Shah is scheduled to return to New Delhi on Saturday afternoon after concluding the review meeting.
