London, Jul 14, 2025 : India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been fined 15% of his match fee and handed one demerit point for a fiery send-off to England opener Ben Duckett on Day 4 of the third Test at Lord’s.
Siraj was found guilty of breaching Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which prohibits gestures or actions that could provoke an aggressive response from a dismissed batter. The incident occurred when Siraj celebrated in close proximity to Duckett and made contact with him during his walk back to the pavilion.
This marks Siraj’s second offence within a 24-month period, taking his total to two demerit points. Accumulating four or more points within the same window could lead to a suspension.
The heated moment was one of several in a gripping Test match that heads into a tense fifth day. India, needing 135 more runs to win, are 58/4, facing a tough English bowling attack, a challenging Lord’s pitch, and a charged home crowd.
