Baramulla, November 19, 2025 : Alert troops of the Indian Army on Wednesday foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said.
According to officials, soldiers deployed at forward posts detected suspicious movement originating from the Pakistan side of the LoC. The infiltrators were immediately challenged.
“The suspected infiltrators were engaged in sustained gunfire exchanges, forcing them to retreat,” officials said.
Following the exchange of fire, the Army launched a comprehensive search operation in the area to ensure that no terrorist managed to slip across into the Indian side.
Officials added that this fresh infiltration attempt once again highlights the **desperation of terror outfits—backed by the Pakistan Army—**to push militants into Jammu and Kashmir before heavy snowfall blocks the mountain passes in winter.
Further details are awaited as the search operation continues.
