Jammu, March 30, 2026 : The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Secretariat on Monday issued an official notification announcing the election schedule for three crucial financial committees, each comprising 11 members.
The elections will be conducted under the principle of proportional representation through a single transferable vote, ensuring fair representation within the House.

As announced by Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather:
- Last date for nominations: April 4, 2026 (till 3 PM)
- Scrutiny of nominations: April 6, 2026 (till 3 PM)
- Withdrawal of candidature: April 8, 2026 (till 3 PM)
- Polling (if required): April 13, 2026 (till 3 PM)
⚖️ Election Oversight
To ensure a smooth and transparent process, Bilal Ahmed Bhat, Additional Secretary of the Assembly, has been appointed as the Returning Officer to supervise the elections.
