SRINAGAR, December 5, 2025 : In a major boost to youth entrepreneurship and self-reliance in Jammu and Kashmir, the J&K Bank has sanctioned business loans to 10,000 young beneficiaries under the J&K Government’s flagship Mission Yuva programme.
A spokesperson of the bank said the initiative aims to transform job seekers into job creators by providing financial assistance, mentoring and capacity building to aspiring entrepreneurs across the Union Territory. The bank has been working in close coordination with the government to ensure timely delivery of credit support to youth at the grassroots level.
The milestone reflects the bank’s sustained commitment to building a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region and promoting inclusive economic growth.
MD & CEO of J&K Bank, Amitava Chatterjee, while expressing satisfaction over the achievement, said that empowering 10,000 young entrepreneurs under Mission Yuva shows the bank’s deep-rooted commitment to strengthening self-reliance in J&K.
“This milestone is not just about numbers. It reflects the confidence, determination, and aspirations of our youth who are now taking charge of their own future with purpose and dignity,” he said.

Mission Yuva aims to motivate and equip young individuals to establish their own ventures through financial assistance, skill development, capacity-building and continuous mentoring at the grassroots level — making it one of the most impactful youth empowerment initiatives in Jammu and Kashmir.
