đ Jammu, October 1, 2025 :Â Reaffirming its commitment to building a self-reliant India, the Jammu and Kashmir BJP on Wednesday announced a three-month-long outreach campaign to promote Swadeshi products and the spirit of Atma Nirbharta, with the aim of transforming the initiative into a mass movement.
Announcing the campaign, BJP J&K President Sat Sharma said Indiaâs journey towards becoming the third largest global economy rests on the active promotion of locally-made goods, decentralisation, and peopleâs participation at every level.
Swadeshi & GST Reforms for Indigenous Growth
Sharma described the recent GST modifications as a âmajor milestoneâ in creating a favourable ecosystem for indigenous industries, encouraging local production, and reducing reliance on imports.
âIndiaâs path to becoming the third-largest economy lies in adopting Swadeshi products and practicing Atma Nirbharta in everyday life,â he said.
He called upon citizens to make âVocal for Localâ a guiding principle by:
-
Using more locally-made products.
-
Promoting Khadi and indigenous goods.
-
Beginning the mission from homes and communities.
Mass Outreach by BJP Cadres
The campaign, launched as part of the Atma Nirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan, began on September 25 (birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay) and will continue till December 25 (birth anniversary of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee).
During this period, BJP cadres will reach out to every sector of society to spread awareness about Swadeshi and ensure broad public participation.
âThe path to Atma Nirbharta rests on the involvement of villages, farmers, women, youth, and the poor. Only then can Bharat truly become self-sufficient and lead the global economy,â Sharma asserted.
Lessons from the Pandemic & Indigenous Success
Recalling Indiaâs Covid-19 response, Sharma highlighted how the nation manufactured vaccines, masks, ventilators, and medicines and supplied them to nearly 100 countries.
âThat was the first major demonstration of true Atma Nirbharta in modern times,â he said.
He also lauded indigenous achievements like Operation Sindoor, describing it as a proud moment showcasing Indiaâs technological capacity and self-reliance.
From Fourth to Third-Largest Economy
Sharma pointed out that India has already become the worldâs fourth-largest economy with a GDP exceeding $4 trillion, and is swiftly moving towards the third position.
âThis has been possible because of enhanced self-reliance and the Vocal for Local drive under PM Narendra Modiâs leadership,â he said.
Extending greetings on Mahanavami, Sharma wished peace, prosperity, and harmony for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
