Srinagar, March 9, 2026 : Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday reaffirmed his government’s commitment to ensuring women’s empowerment, safety, dignity and equal opportunities across all spheres of life.
Extending greetings on International Women’s Day, the Chief Minister lauded the strength, resilience and invaluable contributions of women in shaping families, communities and society.
According to a message shared by the Chief Minister’s Office on X, Omar Abdullah conveyed his warm greetings and heartfelt appreciation to women for their dedication and achievements.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the government remains firmly committed to promoting women’s empowerment, ensuring their safety and dignity, and creating equal opportunities in education, employment and leadership roles.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police also extended greetings to women on the occasion. In a message posted by the Kashmir Zone Police on X, the force acknowledged the courage, determination and contributions of women, stating that it remains committed to ensuring their safety, dignity and empowerment.
The messages marked the celebration of International Women’s Day, recognising the important role women play in the progress and development of society.
