Jammu, March 31, 2026 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday underscored the transformative power of Jammu & Kashmir’s rich cultural and spiritual legacy, stating that it will play a vital role in shaping a brighter and more harmonious future for all.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Jammu Kashmir Cultural Festival in Jammu, organized by Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the deep-rooted traditions of the region. He remarked that Jammu’s soil resonates with vibrant heritage—Dogri folk songs reflecting life’s values, traditional crafts preserving lived experiences, and devotional art enriching the spiritual fabric of society.

The event was also graced by renowned spiritual leader Swami Avdheshanand Giri, adding spiritual depth to the cultural celebration.

LG Sinha emphasized that the festival is not just a celebration but a reaffirmation of commitment towards preserving heritage, promoting folk arts, and strengthening the cultural identity of Jammu & Kashmir. He expressed confidence that traditional performances, cultural exhibitions, and initiatives like Kisan Melas and medical camps would showcase the region’s priceless legacy while honoring its grassroots contributors.

Highlighting India’s global role, the Lieutenant Governor stated that in times of global unrest, India stands as a beacon of peace, driven by its timeless traditions of knowledge, spirituality, and philosophy. He urged the youth to reconnect with their roots, embrace innovation, and use cultural heritage as a powerful tool for societal transformation.

Calling for unity and compassion, he encouraged young minds to strengthen bonds of brotherhood and promote harmony in an interconnected world. He further stressed that art, culture, and ethics are essential pillars for nation-building, bridging generations and shaping a progressive society.

Praising the leadership of Narendra Modi, LG Sinha noted that India has witnessed remarkable transformation over the past decade, emerging as a global force in innovation, technology, and thought leadership. He described the current phase as a “renaissance” of India’s ancient glory on the world stage.

The festival featured cultural exhibitions, traditional performances, a Kisan Mela, and a free medical camp. Several distinguished individuals were also felicitated for their contributions across various fields.

Among those present were legislators Sham Lal Sharma and Devyani Rana, along with Mahant Rohit Shastri, Shri Mukul Kanitkar, senior officials, and a large gathering of citizens.
