Former Chief Minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti also criticised Pakistan by stating that it has egg on its face as it recommended US President Donald Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize.
“The OIC (Organisation of Islamic Cooperation) as expected has once again limited its response to mere lip service in the wake of the attack on Iran. Meanwhile, the country that rushed to recommend Donald Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize now finds itself with egg on its face after he attacked Iran,” Mehbooba stated on X.
On the other hand, former CM and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah said that he was disappointed that the Muslim world was silent over the issue. “It is Iran today, but tomorrow, it will be them who will be destroyed by the US. If they won’t wake up today, they must wait for their turn,” he said.
Abdullah said that he believes that Iran won’t abandon its ambitions despite the attacks. Drawing parallels with the Karbala, the National Conference leader stated that Iran “won’t bow down”.
“If they think that Iran will abandon its ambition, they are in a misconception. Iran remembers Karbala, and it thinks that it is the second Karbala. They will get their necks chopped off, but they won’t bow down,” Abdullah said.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq — in a statement — condemned the US attacks and said, “Violating all international rules…aggression on Iran has further pushed the Middle East to the edge of destruction and chaos. We strongly condemn it. Military strength cannot guarantee immunity, nor bombs and blockades protection.”
