Kulgam, September 9, 2025 : The encounter in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir entered its second day on Tuesday as security forces continued operations against terrorists in the Gudar forest area. The operation resumed this morning after a brief lull in firing overnight.
Two army personnel – Sub Perbhhat Gaur and Lance Naik Narender Sindhu – were martyred, while an Army Major was injured and remains in stable condition.
A joint operation by the Army, CRPF, and J&K Police was launched following specific intelligence inputs about terrorist presence. The terrorists opened fire when challenged by vigilant troops.
The Army’s Chinar Corps paid tribute, stating:
“We honour the supreme sacrifice of Sub Perbhhat Gaur and L/Nk Narender Sindhu. Their courage and dedication will forever inspire us.”
Initial reports suggest one of the neutralized terrorists was a local, while the other – code-named ‘Rehman Bhai’ – is believed to be a foreign militant.
J&K Police DG Nalin Prabhat visited the encounter site and lauded the joint efforts of the security forces.
