Jammu, March 9, 2026 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday congratulated India national cricket team for defeating New Zealand national cricket team in the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Ahmedabad.
India delivered a dominant performance in the summit clash, defeating New Zealand by 96 runs after posting a record total and successfully defending their T20 World Cup title.
In a message shared on X, Manoj Sinha described the victory as spectacular and congratulated the players for their outstanding performance.
“A truly spectacular victory! Heartiest congratulations to Team India on winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The grit and exceptional skills displayed by the Men in Blue have filled every Indian heart with immense pride. Proud of our champions,” he wrote.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also extended his congratulations, stating that the team’s remarkable performance would further strengthen India’s glorious cricketing legacy and inspire millions of fans across the country.
Soon after the victory, celebrations erupted across Jammu, where enthusiastic fans burst fireworks, waved the national flag and gathered on streets to celebrate the historic triumph.
The night sky lit up with colourful fireworks as supporters chanted slogans in support of Team India, shared sweets and congratulated one another, turning the city into a festive scene following the thrilling win.
