Srinagar, July 22, 2025 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday launched a dedicated web portal aimed at expediting relief, compensation, and compassionate appointments to the families affected by terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
Developed by the Home Department in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC), the portal will serve as a centralized platform to maintain district-wise data of terror-affected families and ensure institutional support.
“This initiative will bring speed, transparency, and accountability in processing claims related to relief, ex-gratia, and compassionate employment. No genuine case will go unattended,” LG Sinha said at the launch.
An official spokesperson highlighted that the portal also captures details of encroachments on properties of victims or their families, ensuring prompt intervention and safeguarding of their rights.
To support this initiative, toll-free helplines have been established at the Divisional Commissioner offices in:
-
Jammu: 0191-2478995
-
Kashmir: 0194-2487777
These helplines, operated by trained personnel through dedicated control rooms, will assist in registering overlooked or pending claims and grievances related to relief, compensation, and employment.
Additionally, special monitoring cells have been set up in the offices of the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police to track progress, address delays, and coordinate with concerned departments for timely redressal.
This move follows the recent initiative by LG Sinha on July 13, when he handed over appointment letters to 40 next of kin of terror victims in Baramulla. At the event, he reiterated the government’s commitment to justice for terror-hit families and added:
“The era of terrorists’ family members getting government jobs is over. Our priority is the victims, not the perpetrators.”
The portal and its supporting framework mark a significant step toward structured, just, and prompt support to those who have borne the brunt of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
