Jammu, September 9, 2025 : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited flood-affected areas of Jammu city on Tuesday, assuring residents of full government support in the wake of recent natural calamities.
The city suffered massive damage after heavy rains on August 26 triggered floods and landslides, severely impacting Peerkho, Gujjar Nagar, and Rajiv Nagar.
During his visit to Rajiv Colony, where a health camp was organized for affected families, the LG interacted with residents, listened to their concerns, and emphasized the commitment of the Government of India and J&K administration to their well-being.
Extensive debris clearance operations are underway, with large numbers of laborers and machinery deployed to remove muck and silt deposited by the overflowing Tawi river.
Most affected areas have already been cleared, and efforts continue to restore services and normalcy for displaced residents.
