Srinagar, November 1, 2025 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday visited Jammu and Kashmir’s first Chrysanthemum Theme Garden at the Botanical Garden in Srinagar — a vibrant new addition to the Valley’s autumn attractions recently opened to the public.
Accompanied by senior officials, including Principal Secretary Mandeep Bhandari, Secretary, Floriculture, Parks & Gardens Zubair Ahmad, and Srinagar Deputy Commissioner Akshay Labroo, the L-G toured the garden and reviewed the arrangements made by the Floriculture Department.
Spread over 100 kanals, the theme garden showcases an exquisite collection of Chrysanthemum varieties, offering a colorful floral experience for both residents and tourists. Developed by the Department of Floriculture, the garden highlights Kashmir’s potential for eco-friendly tourism beyond the spring Tulip bloom.
According to an official spokesperson, the initiative aligns with the government’s vision of promoting sustainable tourism and horticultural diversity in the Union Territory.
Earlier in the day, former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah had also visited the garden, which was inaugurated by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on October 25, calling it a “beautiful addition” to Kashmir’s autumn charm.
The Chrysanthemum Theme Garden, also known as Bagh-e-Gul-e-Dawood, is expected to emerge as one of Srinagar’s major floral attractions this season, drawing visitors from across India to witness its vivid blossoms and serene setting by the Dal Lake.
