Srinagar, November 12, 2025 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said that terrorism remains the biggest threat to peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir and urged people to assist security forces in identifying those who support terror networks.
Addressing a gathering at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora, the LG paid rich tributes to the victims of the Red Fort car blast in Delhi and expressed condolences to their families.
“I pay homage to the victims of the terror attack near Red Fort on November 10 and express sympathies with their families,” Sinha said.
The LG noted that terrorism has weakened social harmony and unity, while causing immense suffering to the youth of J&K over the past three decades.
“Our youth are now fulfilling their aspirations, but the neighbouring country and its supporters cannot tolerate it. They want to destroy your dreams through terror,” he remarked.
Calling for collective responsibility in defeating the terror ecosystem, Sinha urged citizens to identify and report those aiding terrorism to security agencies.
He further highlighted that Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a remarkable improvement in peace and stability in recent years.
“The people of J&K have tasted peace over the last five to six years, and the number of peace stakeholders in the UT has significantly increased,” he said.
