Srinagar, July 20, 2025 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday reaffirmed his administration’s firm resolve to dismantle the entire ecosystem of terrorism and radicalisation in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing the flag-in ceremony of the ‘Pedal Through Paradise’ cycle race organized by J&K Police, LG Sinha urged people to unite in the fight against terrorism, its support networks, and drug addiction.
“We must wage a collective war against terrorism and its entire ecosystem. Those involved in radicalising youth, funding terror, and facilitating violence will not be spared,” he said.
Calling the cycling event a symbol of “new Jammu and Kashmir,” the LG said it inspires youth to reject violence and choose the path of progress, fitness, and nation-building.
He lauded the J&K Police for their selfless service and sacrifices in restoring peace, saying, “We don’t believe in buying peace — we are committed to establishing it.”
Highlighting the transformation in the Union Territory, LG Sinha said, “Pens have replaced stones, schools remain open year-round, and bandh calendars have been replaced by national and global events.”
He added that nightlife is thriving in Srinagar like Delhi and Mumbai, and citizens now enjoy cinema and cultural freedom without fear.
Referring to decades of violence, he condemned Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, noting the pain of families who lost loved ones. “Justice is being delivered to victims. On July 13, 40 terror-affected families in Baramulla were provided with government jobs — a beginning toward long-overdue justice,” he said.
He vowed that the administration will continue to empower victim families and dismantle the support structures that sustained terrorism in the region for decades.
