Baramulla, November 19, 2025 : Security forces on Wednesday recovered a live Chinese grenade during a routine cordon-and-search operation (CASO) in the Tappar Kreeri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said.
A senior police officer stated that the operation was jointly conducted by the Special Operations Group (SOG) Kreeri and the 2nd Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at the Agricultural Seed Forum in Tappar Kreeri.
During the course of the searches, security personnel located a live grenade lying in an orchard adjacent to the forum. The explosive device was immediately secured and taken into police custody.
Officials said that further investigation is underway to determine the origin of the grenade and whether it was linked to any recent militant movement in the area.
