SRINAGAR, April 7, 2026 : In a major anti-terror breakthrough, Jammu and Kashmir Police has dismantled a deep-rooted interstate network of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), arresting five operatives including two Pakistani terrorists.
Among those held is Abdullah alias Abu Hureira, who had been on the run for 16 years, along with another Pakistani terrorist Usman alias Khubaib. Officials said both were ‘A+ category’ operatives and key figures in building the LeT network across multiple states.
🔍 Key Highlights:
- 5 arrested, including 2 Pakistani terrorists
- Searches conducted at 19 locations across J&K, Rajasthan & Haryana
- Large cache of weapons seized, including AK rifles, pistols & grenades
- Network involved in logistics, shelter & terror funding
Three Srinagar-based associates — Mohammad Naqeeb Bhat, Adil Rashid Bhat, and Ghulam Mohammad Mir — were also arrested for allegedly providing safe houses, food, and logistical support to terrorists.
The operation, overseen by DGP Nalin Prabhat, exposed a well-organised network using forged identities and interstate links to sustain terror activities.
💣 What The Probe Revealed:
- Terrorists infiltrated India over 16 years ago
- Network handled nearly 40 foreign terrorists over time
- Use of fake documents & identities to operate across states
- Recovery of electronic gadgets, arms, and forged IDs
Investigators also busted multiple hideouts in forest areas around Srinagar, indicating long-term operational planning.
Officials termed the network “highly sophisticated and deeply entrenched”, with further arrests likely as agencies trace financiers, facilitators, and interstate connections.
This operation comes months after a similar “white-collar terror module” bust, underlining the evolving nature of terror networks.
