SRINAGAR, November 27, 2025 : In a major counter-terror operation, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday carried out simultaneous raids across multiple districts of the Kashmir valley as part of an intensified crackdown on the banned organisation Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI).
According to officials, coordinated searches were conducted in Anantnag, Pulwama, Budgam, Kulgam, and Kupwara, targeting residential premises, offices, and other locations linked to JeI members and their associates.
Focus on Dismantling Support Structures
Authorities said the action was based on credible intelligence inputs suggesting the continued involvement of certain JeI-linked individuals in anti-national and unlawful activities.
The searches aimed to disrupt the organisation’s operational channels and dismantle its funding and logistical ecosystem.
Seizures & Evidence Collection
During the raids, police teams seized:
-
Electronic gadgets
-
Documents and organisational literature
-
Material suspected to be linked with JeI’s covert operations
All recovered items have been sent for detailed technical and forensic analysis, officials confirmed.

In north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, police also raided the Jamia Islamia Institute in Waripora, Handwara, following inputs indicating suspected unlawful activities and potential links with JeI networks.
Officials emphasised that the operation is part of a sustained effort to dismantle the terror ecosystem and prevent any attempts to revive the banned outfit’s influence in the region.
