Srinagar, February 10, 2026 : The Baramulla district administration has approved the procurement of three advanced life-support ambulances for health centres in the Sopore Assembly constituency to strengthen emergency medical services.
The approval was accorded by the District Development Commissioner, Baramulla, for the purchase of three Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus ambulances at a total cost of ₹46.77 lakh. The project will be funded through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) of Sopore MLA Irshad Rasool Kar.
As per the official order, the ambulances will be deployed at the Sub District Hospital, Sopore, and the New Type Primary Health Centres at Tarzoo and Duroo. The Chief Medical Officer, Baramulla, has been designated as the executing agency, with procurement to be carried out strictly in accordance with the General Financial Rules (GFR), 2017.
The order further stipulates that the funds must be utilized solely for the approved purpose, and physical verification of the ambulances will be mandatory before the release of payment.
MLA Irshad Rasool Kar said the initiative is aimed at enhancing emergency healthcare delivery in the region. “With this procurement, a total of six ambulances are being added this year. The same number will be added in the next financial year, if required. Strengthening healthcare infrastructure remains a top priority,” he said.
