Poonch, February 26, 2026 : The district administration on Wednesday ordered the reopening of the Mughal Road stretch between Bufliaz and Peer Ki Gali for movement of Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) from February 27, 2026.
According to the order issued by the District Magistrate Poonch, vehicular movement will be permitted only between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm, subject to fair weather conditions and absence of any unforeseen situation.
The decision was taken after successful clearance of snow on the route, following recommendations from the Officer Commanding, 79 RCC (GREF).
Authorities have been directed to deploy adequate manpower and machinery at vulnerable and avalanche-prone stretches, while the police will regulate traffic at key points to strictly enforce the notified timings.
Commuters have been advised to adhere to traffic advisories and plan their travel accordingly.
