Jammu:03-05-22:Former Minister and President, National Conference Central Jammu (Jammu, Samba and Kathua), Babu Rampaul has demanded the replacement of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) with old ballot system in the forthcoming J&K assembly polls.
Addressing a series of meetings with different party committees of Kathua district, he said that credibility of EVMs were under scanner and there are doubts regarding its use and keeping in view the same the Election Commission should use the traditional battle system.
The meetings were held to discuss the current political scenario and issues related to the cadre. He called upon the party functionaries to extensively carry out mass outreach programme and make people aware about the party policies especially the vision for youth.
He reiterated the party’s demand for restoration of full statehood to Jammu & Kashmir before the announcement of assembly elections. “J&K has suffered a lot since the abrogation of state status as in the absence of popular govt people are feeling suffocated due to their continuous neglect on all fronts,” he added.
Babu Rampaul urged the party cadre not to waste their time and strengthen their base to defeat the nefarious designs of communal forces in the forthcoming assembly elections. He also lauded the leadership of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Jenab Omar Abdullah in sailing the party in the turbulent times.
The delegations were led by Ajit, Kathua Urban President; Sham Mehta, President, Kathua Rural B; and Sham lal Mehra, Coordinator, Kathua Rural B. They highlighted the problems being faced by the people of Kathua district.
Dr. Vikas Sharma, Secretary, Central Zone JKNC also addressed the party cadre and asked them to work with zeal so that party could emerge victorious and fulfill the aspirations of public.
