New Delhi, September 9, 2025 : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out searches at 21 locations across five states and Jammu & Kashmir as part of a terror conspiracy case linked to ISIS and other proscribed terrorist groups.
The raids were conducted in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and J&K, following NIA’s takeover of the case from Kayar Police, Chengalpattu (Tamil Nadu) in June.
Digital devices, mobile phones, and incriminatory documents were seized.
The case originated from the arrest of Akhlathur alias Mohammed Akhlque Mujahid, who conspired to commit terrorist acts in India and had connections with terror networks in Pakistan and Syria.
Investigations revealed the accused used social media to coordinate support for jihad against India by collaborating with banned terror outfits.
