Jammu, October 27, 2025 : Security forces on Monday thwarted a major narcotics smuggling attempt along the International Border in R S Pura sector, recovering over 5 kg of heroin dropped by a Pakistani drone, officials said.
The contraband, valued at over ₹25 crore in the international market, was found near Border Outpost Jatinder during a joint early-morning search operation by the Border Security Force (BSF) and Jammu Police after drone movement was detected around 6 am.
A BSF spokesperson said troops acted swiftly on specific intelligence inputs, foiling yet another attempt by Pakistan-based smugglers to push narcotics into Indian territory.
“Two yellow packets containing 10 smaller packets weighing around 5.3 kg were recovered from farmland near Bidipur village. The substance appears to be heroin, drone-dropped from across the border,” the official said.
A police team reached the spot, registered a case, and launched further investigation.
