Jammu, January 23, 2026 : A Pakistani terrorist affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed was killed in a joint operation conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), Indian Army and CRPF in the Billawar area of Kathua district, officials said on Friday.
Confirming the development, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu, said in a post on X:
“A Pakistani Jaish terrorist has been neutralised by a small JKP team in a joint operation with the Army and CRPF in the general area of Billawar, Kathua district.”
Security forces had launched a coordinated operation in the area following specific inputs, leading to an encounter in which the terrorist was neutralised. Further details regarding the operation are awaited.
