Jammu, January 27, 2026 : Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday held an extensive pre-Budget consultation with a broad spectrum of stakeholders from the Jammu Division, marking a key step in the formulation of the upcoming Budget for Jammu and Kashmir.
According to officials, the consultation was aimed at crafting a people-centric Budget that reflects regional aspirations, accelerates infrastructure development, strengthens livelihoods and ensures balanced, inclusive growth across the Union Territory.
Sharing details on X, the Office of the Chief Minister said the interaction focused on incorporating grassroots-level feedback so that the Budget addresses real issues faced by the people, particularly in the Jammu region. Stakeholders highlighted sector-specific concerns and development priorities, which are expected to shape policy decisions and financial allocations.
The Chief Minister emphasised the importance of participatory governance, noting that such consultations are essential to ensure equitable development and regional balance. The exercise is part of a wider outreach initiative by the government to engage citizens and stakeholders ahead of the Budget presentation.
Officials said similar consultations are being held with stakeholders from other regions to ensure that the Budget reflects the collective aspirations of all sections of society in Jammu and Kashmir.
