Srinagar, July 11, 2025 – In a major crackdown on narco-terror networks, Srinagar Police has attached property worth approximately ₹1 crore belonging to a notorious drug peddler, under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The seized asset includes a single-storey residential house along with 17 marlas of land in Lawaypora, owned by Zubair Ahmad Sheikh, son of late Gulzar Ahmad Sheikh. He is currently involved in FIR No. 39/2025 registered under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Shalteng.
Zubair has a long criminal history, including multiple drug and fraud-related cases across Jammu & Kashmir. Investigations confirmed the property was acquired through proceeds of illicit drug trafficking.
Acting under Sections 68-E and 68-F of the NDPS Act, police formally attached the property, which now cannot be sold, transferred, or dealt with without approval from the competent authority.
This action is part of a broader J&K Police crackdown on drug syndicates, aimed at crippling the financial backbone of narcotics operations. Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any drug-related activity to help build a drug-free and safer Srinagar.
