JAMMU, February 14, 2026 : In a stepped-up counter-terror push, police have pasted posters at multiple strategic locations across Doda district seeking public information on active terrorists, including a Pakistani commander of the banned Jaish-e-Mohammad identified as Saifullah, officials said on Saturday.
The poster campaign comes amid intensified security operations in the high-altitude belts of the Jammu region following recent encounters and intelligence inputs indicating terrorist movement. Notices have been displayed at key checkpoints and public places—Nagri, Dessa, Ganpat Bridge (Doda entry point) and Thathri—with plans to expand outreach to other vulnerable areas.
Each poster carries photographs and brief profiles of suspects, urging citizens to share any credible information while assuring complete confidentiality and protection to informants.
Meanwhile, security forces busted a terrorist hideout in the Chilli forest of the Gandoh area early Saturday, recovering eatables and blankets—evidence pointing to recent movement. This prompted intensified combing operations in adjoining forest belts.
Officials said the initiative is part of sustained efforts to dismantle terror networks in the Chenab Valley, including Doda and neighbouring Kishtwar, which have seen attempts by militants to revive activity in recent years. Over the past month, extensive search operations across Doda, Kishtwar, Kathua, Udhampur, Rajouri and Poonch have led to nearly a dozen encounters, the killing of four Pakistani terrorists linked to JeM, and the sacrifice of an Army soldier.
Searches have been further tightened in Thathri and Gandoh after locals reported suspicious movement by individuals believed to have slipped out of recent cordon-and-search operations in Kishtwar.
