Srinagar, August 19, 2025 : Authorities on Tuesday attached the property of designated terrorist Asif Maqbool Dar in Baramulla district under provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), officials said.
The action follows an FIR registered at Parimpora Police Station under relevant sections of the IPC and UAPA. According to police, orchard land measuring three kanals and 18 marlas, worth nearly ₹1 crore, has been seized at Bandi Payeen, Baramulla.
A police spokesperson said the proceedings were carried out under Section 25 of UAPA, which allows attachment of property used, or intended to be used, for terrorist activities. Although the land is formally registered in the name of Dar’s father, Mohammad Maqbool, investigations revealed that Dar remains an active stakeholder.
Currently operating from across the border, Dar has been accused of facilitating terrorism, spreading anti-national propaganda, and inciting disaffection against the government through social media. The Ministry of Home Affairs has already declared him a designated terrorist under UAPA.
Police said the attachment of Dar’s property is part of a wider crackdown to dismantle terror networks and disrupt their financial and logistical support structures in Jammu and Kashmir.
