Sopore, July 24, 2025 – In a significant crackdown under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), Sopore Police on Thursday attached a residential property allegedly used to harbour terrorists and provide logistical support for terror activities.
According to a police statement, the attached property includes a single-storey house and land measuring 3 Kanals and 3 Marlas (Survey Nos. 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016, 2018) located at Reban Ramham, belonging to Javaid Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Rasool Dar of Reban Sopore.
The action was taken in connection with FIR No. 133/2024 registered at Police Station Sopore under Sections 13, 18, 19, 20, 23, 38, and 39 of the UAPA and Section 7/25 of the Arms Act.
Investigation revealed that the property was deliberately used to shelter terrorists, aiding their movement and activities in the region. After obtaining the required legal approvals, the property was attached under the provisions of the UAPA.
Police reiterated its resolve to uproot the terror ecosystem by targeting not only operatives but also individuals and properties that aid or support terrorism. The public has been once again cautioned against providing any form of support—direct or indirect—to terrorists or their associates. Strict legal action will follow against violators.
