Srinagar, September 3, 2025 : Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo, on Wednesday appealed to all doctors, paramedics, and hospital staff across Jammu and Kashmir to remain available round the clock in view of the ongoing inclement weather conditions.
In her message, the minister emphasized the critical role of the health sector during such emergencies. “In view of the continuous rains, I appeal to all doctors, paramedics, hospital staff, and the administration to remain available round the clock. Incessant rains pose a grave risk and our foremost duty is to our people. Let us serve with selflessness, stand united, and support each other,” she said.
She also urged local community groups to play an active role in assisting people. “Mohalla and Masjid committees must guide communities, while police and the administration are already on the ground to assist. With Allah’s mercy, we shall overcome these trying times,” the minister added.
Authorities have placed health institutions on alert as several parts of the Union Territory face the risk of landslides, flash floods, and disruption in essential services due to continuous rainfall over the past week.
