Doda/Jammu, September 13, 2025 : Security forces have launched a large-scale search operation in a remote area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district following reports of the movement of three suspected terrorists in the region.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Doda, Sandeep Mehta, confirmed that the operation was initiated in the Bhallara area of Thathri on Friday evening and is still ongoing. The search involves coordinated efforts by the local police force along with the Indian Army.
Officials stated that a vast area of the village and the adjoining forests have been cordoned off to prevent any escape or infiltration. Despite the intensive operation, there has been no confirmed contact with the suspected terrorists so far.
The operation comes at a time when the situation in Doda remains tense, particularly after the recent detention of AAP State President and Doda MLA Mehraj Malik under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) earlier this week. Authorities continue to maintain strict security lockdown in the district, with heightened surveillance and patrolling aimed at ensuring public safety and preventing any untoward incidents.
The SSP emphasized that security forces are committed to restoring peace and stability in the area while carrying out the operation with utmost precision to avoid collateral damage.
