Srinagar, September 4, 2025 : At least seven residents from Kashmir are feared dead following a massive landslide in Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh, officials said on Thursday.

According to officials, all victims are laborers from Tulail, Bandipora, who were working in Himachal Pradesh at the time of the disaster. Rescue operations are currently underway to trace survivors.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) reported that the landslide caused the collapse of two houses, leaving approximately 12–13 people trapped. “An NDRF team conducted collapsed structure search and rescue (CSSR) operations, rescuing three injured individuals and recovering one body. Operations are ongoing to locate the remaining victims,” the NDRF stated on X.

The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister’s Office expressed grief over the incident and assured that all possible assistance is being extended to the affected families.
