Srinagar, December 5, 2025 : The National Conference (NC) leadership on Friday observed the 120th birth anniversary of party founder and legendary leader Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah with prayers and rich floral tributes at his mausoleum, Qaid Mazar, located at Naseem Bagh, Hazratbal.
NC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Vice President and Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Advisor to the CM Nasir Aslam Wani (Sogami), senior leader Abdul Rahim Rather, along with several MLAs, party functionaries and workers, visited the shrine where Fateha Khawani was offered.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Farooq Abdullah said the day stands as a powerful reminder of Sheikh Abdullah’s lifelong struggle for the rights, dignity and empowerment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He noted that the vision and policies of Sher-e-Kashmir continue to guide generations in their pursuit of justice and inclusive development.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and other senior leaders also paid glowing tributes, stating that Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah’s unwavering commitment to justice, unity and public welfare laid the foundation of the region’s modern political awakening.
A large number of party workers, supporters and NC leaders participated in the commemoration and paid rich tributes to the founder leader on his historic birth anniversary.
