Srinagar, July 11: The State Investigation Agency (SIA) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday conducted raids at three locations in Jammu, Doda, and Handwara in connection with a terror-funding case involving cryptocurrency, officials said.
The raids, part of an ongoing investigation under FIR No. 12/2022 registered under the UAPA and IPC, aimed to uncover a cross-border terror funding conspiracy using cryptocurrency to destabilize peace in the region.
“The operation also sought to identify individuals involved in inciting youth against the Union of India and threatening national security,” a police spokesperson said.
The SIA recovered vital digital evidence and electronic devices, which officials say mark a significant breakthrough in exposing covert financial networks sustaining terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
“These operations underline the SIA’s resolve to dismantle terror support structures and safeguard national sovereignty,” the spokesperson added.
