The incident occurred during the night of October 12–13, when a mob of around 12 men stormed the site of Shivalaya Construction Limited along the Jammu–Pathankot National Highway. According to a police statement, the attackers pelted guards and workers with stones and beat them with sticks and rods, before damaging CCTV cameras, lights, vehicles, and other site property, including a camper vehicle.
