Jammu, November 13, 2025 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday urged citizens to take a stand against terror sympathisers, stressing that while security forces are committed to dismantling the terror network, society too must play its part.
Speaking at the special convocation of the University of Jammu, Sinha said terrorism remains a fundamental threat to peace and progress, and people must actively help counter radicalisation and expose those who aid or shelter terrorists.
His remarks come amid the probe into the Red Fort blast that killed 13 people. The car involved was driven by Dr Umar Nabi of Pulwama, linked to a “white-collar” Jaish-e-Mohammed terror module operating across Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.
“The security forces are determined to dismantle the terror ecosystem, but society must also rise to the occasion and stand against terror sympathisers,” the LG said.
Sinha added that the youth of J&K are now focused on progress, aspiring for a better life in line with the rest of the country.
The convocation, presided over by LG Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, saw 600 candidates, including 400 women, receiving medals.
