Kishtwar, July 22, 2025: In a decisive crackdown on repeat offenders, the Kishtwar district administration has detained two individuals under the Public Safety Act (PSA) for their repeated involvement in criminal activities, particularly theft and burglary.
The accused have been identified as Mohammad Rizwan of Gurian and Rahul Singh Chib of Himachal Pradesh. According to officials, both were involved in multiple FIRs across the district and posed a continued threat to public order.
Acting on detailed dossiers submitted by the police, District Magistrate Pankaj Kumar Sharma issued the PSA detention orders, citing the duo’s persistent anti-social behavior and disruptive influence on the region’s peace and security.
“This step has been taken to prevent them from indulging in further unlawful activities and to protect public order,” an official spokesperson said.
DM Sharma, addressing the media, reaffirmed that no one involved in disruptive acts will be spared, especially those obstructing development or threatening law and order.
“Strict legal action will be taken against anyone disturbing peace or hindering progress. The administration remains fully committed to maintaining security and fostering an environment fit for development,” he said.
