RAMBAN, July 30, 2025 : In a tragic incident, two teachers lost their lives after their motorcycle was swept away by a flash flood near Jalebi Morh Nallah in the Batote area on Tuesday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Jagdev Singh Thakur and Sanjay Sharma, both residents of Ghordi Block, Udhampur. They were reportedly en route to their school when heavy rains triggered a sudden surge in the stream, overwhelming their vehicle.
SHO Batote Vijay Kotwal confirmed that both bodies were later recovered and shifted to District Hospital Ramban for post-mortem.
Police have initiated further investigation into the incident.
