Jammu, September 4, 2025 : A landslide struck temporary sheds at the Ratle Power Project in Dhrabshala, Kishtwar, on Thursday, prompting swift action by the administration to rescue five individuals, officials said.
The sheds, used as washrooms for the project, were hit by the landslide, trapping five people inside. All were safely rescued, with three admitted to GMC Hospital, Doda, for medical care. Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Sharma, who oversaw the operation, confirmed that the rescued individuals are stable and receiving necessary treatment.
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh lauded the administration’s prompt response on X, stating:
“Must appreciate the district administration for taking prompt action and rescuing around five persons who could have otherwise been fatal victims of the landslide at the Ratle Power Project in Dhrabshala area. The rescued are injured but safe and receiving all necessary medical treatment and assistance.”
The administration continues to monitor the area for any further risks following the landslide.
