Two NDPS Fugitives Arrested in Kulgam After 20 Years on the Run

The accused have been identified as Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh, son of Gh. Qadir Sheikh, resident of Nassu Badrahgund, wanted in FIR No. 107/2005 under Sections 15/18 NDPS Act, and Bilal Ahmad Ganie, son of Gh. Nabi Ganie, resident of Lalen Ganoor Kulgam, wanted in FIR No. 223/2006 under the same sections.

Aijaz Ahmad was apprehended near J&K Bank Qazigund, while Bilal Ahmad, who had been living at Levdora near Railway Bridge Qazigund, was tracked and arrested after 19 years of evasion.

SSP Anayat Choudhary (IPS) commended the police teams for their sustained efforts in tracking down long-term absconders and reiterated the department’s zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking.

“Action against absconders will continue to ensure no one escapes the reach of law,” the SSP said.
